Lunch or dinner in elegant restaurant with colorful tiled interior serving traditional Ottoman food.
One of the top 3 restaurants in Istanbul.
I don't usually eat at hotel restaurants. However, I made an exception here because of the many enthusiastic reviews and I wasn't disappointed.nnKaraköy Lokantasi offers outstanding meze cuisine, so I skipped the main courses and focused entirely on the meze. Every choice was exquisite.nnThe restaurant is shortlisted for Michelin but doesn't (yet) have a star, which is naturally reflected in the price. The quality justified the bill of around €100 per person (6 meze per person plus wine) to the last cent.
super service, nice atmosphere, fab dried tomato amuse guele, nice tarama (fish egg paste), grilled octopus, grilled lamb chops.nno ayran/juices.nbest to order several of display case cold starters, warm starters (Octopus, fried cabbage w yoghurt, shrimp, liver etc) to share rather than one starter/one main
The topik (a type of Turkish dip) and Cretan spread were bad. The meats were unsalted and tasteless. The sauces and purees were cold.
